Dear Parents,
We would like to welcome
you to CAGE and TNT. Your child is now part of a special program that promotes
motor skills, coordination, and self-confidence through basic gymnastics, dance
and/or cheerleading skills. Our goal for your child is to reach her/his
potential whether it is recreational or competitive. We are constantly working
to research and improve our program so we can meet your children’s needs.
We do ask that you know and follow a few basic FACILITY rules:
REFUND/DROP POLICY: No
refunds for missed classes. Please see our make-up policy. If you need to drop a
gymnastics, dance or cheer class for any reason, at any point during the
session/year, you will need to give CAGE/TNT two weeks written notice. If
written notice is not received you will be billed for the remaining classes in
the session/month even if your child did not participate. You are responsible
for payment for the remaining 2 weeks after notice is given even if you do not
participate.
DRESS CODE:
Children should be ready for class
on time, proper dress
(SEE UNIFORM GRID INSERT),
hair tied back, no gum and no jewelry. No zippers or buttons, please. They
scratch and poke both the child and the equipment. All sports bras (long or
cropped) must be worn under other apparel such as tank tops, cami’s, t-shirts,
leotards, etc.
MAKE UP POLICY: Make-ups must be done in the same session the original class was
missed and are limited to two per session. Make-ups must be schedule in advance
by calling the office. We do not pro-rate for missed classes.
RETURNED CHECKS: $25.00
charge for all returned checks.
WEATHER CLOSING: We will observe the TOPEKA SCHOOL DISTRICT 501 snow days with
all day time classes (9:30am through 3:00pm). Classes that start at 4:00pm or
later will listen to our phone message, check the closings on TV station WIBW or
KSNT or check www.cagegymnastics.com. Weather closings will be announced by
3:30pm. Weather closing make-ups are TBA.
WHAT AM I PAYING FOR? Your
tuition payment pays for 9 classes. Please refer to your 2007-2008 calendar for
any scheduled make-up days due to holidays. If no make-up day is listed then 9
classes were worked into the session without the use of a make-up day.
TUITION & FEES: Fees are
due at the time of enrollment. No refunds will be made on session, registration,
recital or costume fees for withdrawal from class. Tuition includes insurance
fee. Registration is $20 per year due on your enrollment month anniversary.
HEALTH: If your child is
sick enough to miss school, please keep them home from CAGE/TNT.
SAFETY: For safety reasons
no one is allowed on the equipment unless being supervised by an instructor.
Students must wait on the bleachers or in the lobby for their class to be
called. Children not participating in class must stay behind the yellow chain.
No child is allowed in the gym/studio area without a coach/teacher. It is
acceptable to wait in the lobby or behind the yellow chain by the bleachers.
TARDINESS: Please make sure
your child is on time for class. Tardiness is a disruption to the coach and
other students. If you are going to be 10 or more minutes late, please schedule
a make-up class instead of attending your regular class that day. Please pick up
your child on time. While waiting to be picked up after class, children must
remain inside the building.
SPECIFIC GYMNASTICS and CHEER POLICIES/RULES:
1. Parents and other
spectators are welcome to wait on the bleachers or in the lobby. We do ask you
refrain from “coaching from the sidelines”. The reason for this rule – We want
your child’s full attention for the time we have them. If you have any questions
or comments please set an appointment with the coach outside of class time.
SPECIFIC DANCE POLICIES/RULES:
1. Late fee: The TNT Dance
year runs from Aug.13th, 2007-Recital 2008. TNT has set up a convenient payment
plan where tuition is due 4 times throughout the year instead of monthly.
(Please see the 2007-2008 calendar for payment dates) If payment is not received
within 5 days of the tuition due date a $5.00 late fee will be applied to your
account. If it’s not received within 10 days of the tuition due date an
additional $10.00 late fee will be applied to your account.
2. Dress code: Our dress
code is designed to encourage unity and a sense of structure and uniformity
among the students. Proper uniforms are required.
(Please see uniform grid
insert to find your child’s specific class uniform)
3. Class observation:
Parents are invited to watch their child’s last class of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
nine week class sessions. On observation days parents are asked to turn cell
phones on silent and keep talking to a whisper as to not distract the dancers.
On non-observation days parents are asked to refrain from entering the dance
studio and can wait for their child on the bleachers or in the lobby. If you
have questions or concerns about your child progress or classroom behavior
please set an appointment with their teacher outside of class time.
4. Recital and costuming:
All dance students are required to attend and perform in our annual recital.
(Combo gymnastics and dance classes are considered non-recital classes and will
not participate in recital) The recital date is TBA. There is a recital fee of
$50 per family which goes to cover rental of the facility, props, music fees,
additional staffing needs, and one professional program book per family. All
students are required to purchase a recital costume that will be chosen by the
TNT staff. Each class will have a different costume, please plan ahead for these
costs which vary between $50-$70 per costume. All costume fees are due by
November 17th, 2007. Costumes ordered after November 17th, 2007 are not
guaranteed to be here in time for pictures. Costume fees are non refundable.
5. Requirements: All
dancers are required to be in the recital. Please plan ahead for the costs and
time commitments that go along with recital.
PHOTO RELEASE Please
acknowledge that student’s photos may be used on the CAGE and TNT website and
